Responsibilities:

TheBuild / Release Engineer will be responsible for designing and creating Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines for our core software assets, enabling Papa John’s to lead the industry in exploring, creating, and supporting highest-quality, "customer first" experiences in various digital channels. This role is part of a team accountable for the conception, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of multiple customer-facing applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and enhance the CI and CD process and automation suite in a high-visibility, dynamic software engineering environment
  • Implement a continuous delivery pipeline that enables continuous builds, static code analysis, automated unit and integration testing, automated code and configuration deployment to various environments, automated smoke and regression tests, automated security and compliance testing, automated performance reporting, automated resiliency testing and health checks, and automated log analysis.
  • Produce and maintain documentation on the CI and CD process, technologies, and key configurations
  • Embrace the ‘feedback loop’ by engaging with Developers, Quality Assurance professionals, Infrastructure & Operations engineers, and other roles to transform concepts, requirements, and telemetry into services and tools
  • Interact with geographically distributed team members
  • Administer and support tools related to management of source code, configurations, builds, deployments, and releases
  • Apply DevOps principles and mentality to daily work

Qualifications:

DESIRED FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Professional, technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills commensurate with the responsibilities outlined
  • Significant experience in continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous testing, and/or other DevOps-related tools and practices
  • Experience with a diverse set of CI/CD-related technologies (e.g. Subversion, Git, Jenkins, Bamboo, Gradle, ELK, Splunk, Selenium…)
  • Hands-on with scripting languages, Linux, REST, Java, networking fundamentals, relational/non-relational databases
  • Experience with provisioning automation or configuration management (e.g. Puppet, Chef...)
  • Experience with XaaS platforms and cloud computing (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google, Salesforce, Pivotal …)
  • Experience in analyzing or troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
  • Knowledgeable of Linux containers or similar technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes...)

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years technical experience in build or release engineering and automation
