The Social Media Specialist is responsible for all executing social media activity on Papa John's social media channels. This position reports directly to the Director, Social Media & Engagement.

45% - Social Marketing

  • Work with creative agency to develop social media playbook & strategy
  • Work directly with creative marketing team and agency to develop & execute campaigns across social
  • Maintain outbound social calendar
  • Work with creative agency to oversee reporting of owned social brand activity
  • Social asset management (route for creative/legal approvals, distribute to local agencies/field, etc.)
  • Serve as first contact for social media requests from internal teams (brand, local, partnerships, loyalty, etc.)
  • Manage Facebook global structure including national and local Facebook Business Managers
  • Serve as social media consultant to internal team members and local agencies/operators
  • Manage profiles/accounts for all social channels, includes regular auditing and cleanup
  • Research and implementation of emerging social channels
  • Stay up to date on current industry trends and best practices
  • Manage period communications to local agencies/field
  • Competitive analysis
  • Attend and contribute to cross functional meetings (Action Team, campaign integration status, weekly media status, etc.)

15% - Social Media Buying

  • Assist Director with media buys on social channels via media agency
  • Maintain media calendar
  • Work directly with customer data team to develop customer segmentation needs for social buys
  • Work with media agency to develop/distribute reporting of paid social activity
  • Process media agency invoices and manage day to day spend

40% - Community Management & Social Listening

  • Work with creative and digital teams to develop & execute proactive community management strategy
  • Proactively monitor all inbound messages to Papa John's Social Media sites
  • Identify influential mentions and make engagement recommendations
  • Execute Founder monitoring & engagement strategy
  • Collaborate closely with PR team and agency


Have what it takes?

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing/business or equivalent experience
  • Experience with pizza/QSR industry preferred
  • 2+ years in social media management
  • Sprinklr software certification or equivalent a plus
  • Facebook Blueprint or equivalent certification a plus
  • Advanced understanding of internet website function and development
  • In-depth knowledge of applying new media tools – including blogs, social networking sites, location-based services, etc. – as a marketing communications tool.
  • Ability to learn and use Social Media monitoring software
  • Basic knowledge of mobile devices and computer software, such as Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Knowledge of the restaurant/pizza/QSR industry preferred
  • Exceptional solid writing and research skills required
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, build and maintain relationships and work in team environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to respond quickly and timely
