Responsibilities

Papa John's International is a global pizza company that is passionate about technology. We are looking for an experienced Support Engineer. Support Engineer (SE) is a member of the application development team who works with internal business users and external client users (customers) to resolve production system issues and communicate the resolution status. The SE also contributes to product and service development initiatives, including helping to design and build internal and customer-facing applications and process improvement initiatives, during periods when production support demand is lower.

  • Work as part of a collaborative, agile development team to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly across multiple platforms
  • Anticipate and address issues before they become issues
  • Research and document Root Cause Analysis
  • Escalate and communicate critical issues effectively and timely to appropriate parties
  • Track and report on support and issue trends
  • Maintain a positive attitude and express difficult issues in a professional manner

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies
  • Excellent judgement, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL and ability to write queries
  • Ability to address and diagnosis application issues
  • Ability to manage robust ticketing systems
  • Ability to review logs to find issues
  • Experience documenting new processes or training procedures
  • Strong technical communication skills
  • You think about how we can do things better in the future: you are not afraid to propose process improvements and suggest new ideas, but you also keep in mind that we need to solve urgent problems right away.

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, related technical field or commensurate work experience
  • 3+ years' experience in a support role, supporting software applications
