TheTransportation Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the company's transportation safety and personnel programs. They will assist administering new hire process, new hire database updates & driver profiles. They will also assist in safety procedure enforcement, to include post accident testing, driver hours of service management, insurance placement and claims, and DQ file management. They will provide ad hoc reporting for safety and hiring metrics. They will support system requests as related to our dynamic routing systems.

Qualifications

  • Perform safety inspections and participate in company audits as needed.
  • Participate in development and updating safety manuals, forms and other safety communication tools as needed.
  • Verify driver's hours and check for accuracy using established electronic systems and reports
  • Work with PJFS business leadership to develop sustainable, supportable business processes, and configure technology solutions to support.
  • Develop and manage relationships with outside vendor partners and internal customers.
  • Assist in the creation and development of driver safety incentive programs and compliance.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting, as related to all transportation safety and hiring criteria, as needed.
  • Perform the administrative activities necessary to support CDL A Driver hiring, safety initiatives, team member training, team member incentive programs, organizational goals/objectives and planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Must be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of all DOT Rules and Regulations to include DQ File Management, CSA, Drivers HOS, effective hiring and review processes, strong interpersonal communications, and strategic planning processes.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of OSHA Regulations and or a willingness to obtain
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of Office Excel and Word
  • Strong background in Transportation Operations to include 2 – 3 years of Safety and Hiring support for CDL-A Drivers, Knowledge of best practices in integrating systems and infrastructure requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Transportation related technology to include TMS Solutions, and OBC usage to include HOS Logging.
  • Must be team oriented and work well with others in an environment requiring a high degree of flexibility.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and give direction verbally and in writing in English.
  • Must be able to work in a virtual office environment if required
  • Minimal to limited travel is required (5% – 10%).

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years of safety support and hiring review responsibility in Transportation Operations involving CDL-A Drivers.
