THIS IS A CORPORATE POSITION

Responsibilities:

The Transportation Office Assistant is responsible for Administratively assisting the Transportation Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Transportation office.

  • Provide administrative assistance and support to the TM and TS.
  • Answer and screen telephone calls and emails in a friendly and professional manner
  • Pro-actively assist in addressing customer service and delivery issues.
  • Update current spreadsheets with daily data entry. ) COT and Fuel/Mileage, DVIR and Log filing, and like tasks.
  • Monitor and request the need for inventory items like gloves, clipboards, and other items needed for drive team
  • Support Transportation Supervisor with general accounting, travel arrangements, scheduling and non disciplinary communication with drive team.
  • Support Transportation Manager and Transportation Supervisor with coordination of routes and dispatch updating with in our systems
  • Support Transportation Manager and Transportation Supervisor with managing of equipment repair and maintenance
  • Gain understanding of our private fleet and our multi-stop operations
  • Able to build great working relationships with drivers
  • Perform other duties as assigned within administrative capacity

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required, some college is preferred
  • Previous Transportation experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and or understand written and or verbal policy, instruction and direction in English required
  • Proficient experience required with computer applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and e-mail Outlook applications.
  • Some experience in administration or transportation preferred
  • Strong excel skills required
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training may substitute for any of the listed position qualifications
