Responsibilities:

Papa John’s is a technology leader in the quick-service restaurant category – the first national pizza brand with digital ordering at all of its U.S. delivery restaurants in 2001; the first to offer system-wide mobile ordering with SMS text in 2007; the first to launch a nationwide digital rewards program in 2010; the first to offer gift cards that can be used on mobile devices; the first to surpass 50% of total sales through digital channels; the first to allow customers to securely and easily split their bill on-line; and most recently, the first to enable customers to order via Apple TV.

TheiOS Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining native and mobile apps for the Apple platform, enabling Papa John’s to lead the industry in exploring, creating, and supporting highest-quality, "customer first" experiences in various digital channels. This role is part of a team accountable for the conception, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of multiple customer-facing applications.

Specifically, the focus for this role will be in Native Applications powered by the Apple ecosystem (e.g. for smart-phones, tablets, wearables, consoles, and other mobile or non-mobile devices) and their integration with back-end APIs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance native applications (e.g. iOS, tvOS, watchOS, gaming, connected home or vehicle, wearables, etc.) that deliver fantastic customer experiences and pro-actively mitigate any degradation of service in production
  • Drive product excellence in our Native Apps, with a goal of exceeding our customers’ expectations and increasing profit in our digital channels
  • Work hand-in-hand with other team members to ensure that solution design and solution implementation align and evolve together, using an agile mindset
  • Working knowledge of general mobile landscape, architecture, trends, and emerging technologies (those that challenge the organization and/or provide trans-formative business opportunities)
  • Participate in evaluation and adoption efforts (including proof-of-concept and proof-of-technology)
  • Ability to analyze complex business problems, articulate development options, and recommend solutions
  • Participate in collaborative team planning processes (estimating, prioritizing, etc.), and help identify significant project milestones and risks
  • Prioritize our customers’ experience through app analytics and other means of research and troubleshooting
  • Participate in and understand the full mobile application development life-cycle, from concept to publishing apps in the store

Qualifications:

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Professional, technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills commensurate with the responsibilities outlined
  • Experience in creating, publishing, and supporting iOS native applications in a public app store
  • Proficient with Swift, Xcode, and Apple platform SDKs (at minimum iOS; other experience including tvOS and watchOS desirable)
  • Experience in Mobile-first and API-first best practices
  • Experience in continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous testing, and/or other DevOps-related tools and practices
  • Hands-on with HTML5, JavaScript, REST, Linux
  • Experience in industry UX best practices and Human Interface guidelines, especially for mobile applications
  • Experience with IoT (Internet of Things) devices or integrations
  • Experience with Social channel integration
  • Experience in app analytics and UEM (User Experience Management) technology
  • Experience in delivering mapping, geolocation, and other location-intelligent features
  • Experience with automated build processes, unit testing, resiliency testing, source code and network analysis tools

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years technical experience with the iOS platform
  • Experience in delivering high-volume, high-availability, internet-facing applications
