Director, HR Business Partner

Job Summary

The Director HR Business Partner with field operations leaders to provide strategic direction pertaining to people initiatives in alignment to Papa John’s business strategy.  Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, programs, and systems along with federal, state and local laws as well as ethical business practices.  Collaborates with other departments to ensure corporate operations is supported with organizational goals and objectives. This role provides guidance to senior leadership on all people/talent related aspects of the business.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advise leadership on issues related to people and change management, coaching methods, documentation, development, performance improvement planning, as well as other workplace matters.  As a partner with senior management, serves as a coach and sounding board to managers and an advocate for all team members and the brand.  

  • Serve as technical SME on special HR projects and initiatives. 

  • Support above store leadership with retention, training and succession planning initiatives; implement programs to attract, select, train and retain a diverse pool of management candidates. 

  • Evaluates current recruiting tools and recommends new approaches. 

  • Shares information with management regarding policies and procedures to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations concerning employment. 

  • Assess departmental development needs and recommends training and/or tools to enhance skills and performance.   

  • Consults on execution of performance management and annual succession planning.    

  • Champion culture strategies to increase retention and morale along with making Papa John’s a “Better!” place to work.    

  • Consults with and advises leadership in identifying and resolving workplace issues, facilitating conflict resolution and determining appropriate corrective action.   

  • Conducts objective and thorough investigations into workplace allegations and ensures timely resolution of workplace issues.   

  • Collects and analyzes data to identify, coordinate and execute preventative training.  

  • Consults with leadership to ensure adherence with salary administration guidelines and maintain internal equity.  

  • Manages deployment of all department processes and programs including performance management, management inventory, DE&I initiatives, engagement and culture surveys, benefits enrollment, etc.
