Driver Helper


Job Summary


The Driver Helper will assist the Delivery Specialist with safely unloading product and providing customer service to our Papa John’s Pizza restaurants.  The Driver Helper will also assist with the loading of goods onto our trailers, determining loading procedures, staging orders and checking product for loading accuracy.  Some overnight stays while out on route may be required. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently unload products from truck to Papa John’s restaurant using ramp, gate-lifts and 2-wheeled hand truck. 

  • Place product in designated walk-in cooler in an organized manner 

  • Ensure safety procedures are followed with regards to all loading and unloading of product while in the Quality Control Center and restaurant 

  • Inspect equipment to ensure it is in proper operating condition 

  • Assist delivery specialist with dispatch preparation, load security, and other items 

  • Load and unload goods, determine loading procedures, stage orders and check product for loading accuracy. 

  • Complete loading or receiving tasks to comply with PJFS Safety and quality standards. 

  • Assure completion of required daily transportation/distribution paperwork, i.e., receiving logs, load sheets, damaged product, etc. 

  • Operate fork trucks and other material handling equipment in a safe and professional manner. 

  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly sanitation tasks according to sanitation schedule; including, trailers.    

  • Communicate with Supervisor regarding Safety, product levels, quality issues, day-to-day challenges, etc. 

  • Communicate with other department team members to ensure the correct product is being picked and loaded. 

  • Assist customers with will-call pick-ups as required. 

  • Ensure compliance with PJFS Safety, Sanitation and HACCP policies & procedures, federal, state and local regulations (OSHA, FDA, DOL) and all Papa John’s International, Inc., policies & procedures. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
