Internal Communications Specialist – Restaurant & Field Operations

THIS IS A CORPORATE POSITION

The Internal Communications Specialist – Restaurant & Field Operations will play a key role in developing and executing communications campaigns and tactics to engage Papa Johns restaurant and supply chain team members across North America.

Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications – Operations, this role will be responsible for day-to-day execution of Papa Johns Restaurant Operations communications channels and tactics.

They will build strong, collaborative relationships throughout the business to curate and produce engaging content, news and resources that help restaurant team members be successful in their roles and deliver a great customer experience.

We’re looking for a creative, resourceful team player with a passion for testing and developing new approaches to reaching on-the-go, deskless audiences – from improving existing communications platforms to exploring innovative new technology platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience managing long and short-term editorial calendars and have a keen understanding of how to optimize complex business messages for specific audiences and channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development of new communications channels and curate high impact content to inform, inspire and engage Papa Johns corporate restaurant and supply chain team members, as well as franchisees.
  • Effectively establish and navigate collaborative relationships with individuals of varying roles throughout the business, from leaders to subject matter experts to hourly team members.
  • Create effective processes to enhance existing communications channels and test new communications platforms.
  • Pilot and launch new communications routines to engage the Papa Johns supply chain team members who make and deliver our fresh ingredients to restaurants across the country.
  • Oversee editorial development and distribution of bi-weekly newsletters targeted to corporate restaurant general managers and franchisees. Test expansion of these channels to better reach hourly team members.
  • Manage restaurant and supply chain team member communities on Papa Johns’ internal social platform and generate ideas to drive engagement and participation.
  • Measure employee feedback and sentiment across internal communications channels; use a data-driven approach to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Craft and edit email content, articles, talking points, video scripts and presentations. Manage targeted email distributions, assist with intranet publishing and support virtual and live events as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of corporate or agency communications experience (internal communications and/or digital media experience preferred)
  • Experience with hourly employee communications is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or PR preferred
  • Experience with content planning and production across a variety of mediums (web, blog, video, email, internal social platforms, etc.)
  • Proven ability to bring creative, innovative ideas and solutions to enhance existing communications channels
  • Strong time management and collaboration skills; can also work independently and is a proactive self-starter who cultivates innovation and embraces change
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills; understanding of how to customize messages for different audiences and platforms
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and managing tight deadlines
  • A passion for pizza and the team members who make great pizza for our guests
