Manager Media



The Media Manager is part of the team that helps lead the Papa John's advertising media strategy by establishing and executing the strategic direction for Papa John's, looking at consumer insights & trends of today while also keeping an eye towards the future.


This role will also be charged with developing and executing communication strategies, plans, and investments for paid media campaigns. Additionally, this teammate will be tasked with evaluating new opportunities in this space, such as launching new products and establishing new partnerships to better capture emerging consumer needs and occasions. He/she will work with field/corporate Regional Activation Directors to ensure the media strategy is being executed effectively at the local level. This role helps manage and direct the execution of Papa John's advertising media strategy (national and local), ensuring the company is receiving the greatest return on its advertising investments

Critical Ingredients
  • Assist in the development of the national media strategies that are reflective of the consumer & Brand insights
  • Identify insights to understand Papa John's business, target audiences and category; articulate compelling insights within consumer, category, competition, culture, and media
  • Track national media spending, identify and resolve discrepancies from budgets with the national media buying agency; record and manage media invoices; regularly communicate budget status and issues; investment strategy across online and offline channels, knowledge of data and programmatic buying, content and social media
  • Manage national and local agency partnerships as part of the national media plan to achieve industry leading campaigns; ensure compliance, support, and performance of national media activities
  • Identify the right moments to best connect with consumers that factor in audience goals, barriers, drivers, and roles of channels
  • Collaborate in the creation and selling of the full Marketing Communication plan to the Papa John's system & stakeholders; Manage and communicate competitive reporting from national agency
  • Send and manage assets for sponsorships and added value, coordinate approval with SVP, Brand and Papa John's Legal Dept.

Education, Experience & Certifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in media planning and buying or related role required
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising/Media or related field
  • Proven experience managing media strategies and media buying for mid-to-large size companies
  • Experience with multi-unit stores across multiple regions
