THIS IS A CORPORATE POSITION
The Indirect Tax Manager is responsible for managing compliance, audit and research activities for sales and use tax, personal property tax and business licenses. A successful candidate will bring in-depth indirect tax technical knowledge and experience and be an individual who can work independently with minimal guidance. A highly qualified candidate provides internal advice and recommends solutions and best practices while balancing business needs with regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Indirect Tax.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee sales and use tax compliance including maintaining a calendar to track filing due dates, performs research and planning for sales tax topics.
- Manage sales and use tax and personal property tax audits
- Oversee filing of personal property tax returns and business license filings
- Implement satisfactory controls
- Identifies potential tax savings opportunities
- Maintain knowledge of indirect tax laws and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Submit required GL entries for all indirect tax transactions
- Reconcile all related balance sheet accounts accurately and timely
- Compile monthly and quarterly reporting to include the indirect tax accounting impact of all applicable transactions (includes regulatory and GAAP impact, both balance sheet and P&L)
- Identify indirect tax risk and develop recommendations for mitigation
- Address sales and use tax inquiries from internal business partners as well as external customers
- Execute internal controls and maintain the indirect tax control framework
