Job Summary

The Senior Manager – Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting position will be primarily focused on performing and delivering external financial reporting and technical accounting activities of Papa John’s International, Inc., a publicly traded restaurant company with over 5,500 global units and a $2.9 billion market cap. In addition to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures, this position will also be responsible for researching complex accounting issues to ensure accurate accounting presentation and disclosure in publicly filed financial reporting document and perform contract reviews.


  • Perform and/or review certain technical accounting month-end and quarterly-end procedures.
  • Assist in development of proper presentation and disclosures of complex accounting issues in Papa John’s publicly filed financial reporting documents.
  • Prepare cash flow statement.
  • Assist in preparation of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, other SEC filings, and the Company’s annual report.
  • Coordinate the company’s annual 401k audit processes.
  • Author accounting policies and lead the creation of standardized accounting policies and procedures.
  • Perform and enhance contract review process for accounting and finance considerations.
  • Perform accounting for capital structure programs (share repurchases, dividends, etc.).
  • Interact with the Company’s external auditors, including assisting in the execution of the annual external audit.
  • Research complex accounting issues to ensure proper accounting treatment and compose position papers for use by finance/accounting management and external auditors.
  • Prepare other ad hoc accounting, financial, and investor relations analyses as requested.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CPA required
  • 6-8 years’ experience required, preferably in public accounting
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Experience with SEC reporting guidelines
