Sr Communications Manager, Corporate Reputation & Media

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
  • Manages day-to-day external corporate communications activity for the company, executing reputation-building initiatives, managing media inquiries and issues, partnering with key leaders on executive visibility, and developing/maintaining media relationships
  • Proactively seeks positive stories within the company that align to business objectives and creates an owned and earned strategy
  • Works across the company to manage and respond to potential issues; builds a response process and protocol; works with international markets to assist and share best practices, as needed
  • Builds a bench of company spokespeople and subject matter experts, including securing media opportunities, creating an overarching story and supporting messaging, and prepares spokespeople for media and speaking opportunities
  • Creates awareness for corporate news and announcements in earned media
  • Builds close relationships with key media, including beat reporters, business and financial media, and local media; cultivates new relationships with media and influencers
  • Works closely within the communications and corporate affairs team to drive holistic external communications strategy
  • Partners with senior leaders of the company to provide strategic communications counsel and coaching
  • Defines clear, measurable goals and uses to data to drive improvements; understands PR measurement and leads tracking and reporting of key metrics


Qualifications

Desired Experience & Skills
  • 5+ years corporate communications experience
  • Proven ability to build valuable, trusted relationships with media and generate meaningful coverage
  • Experience in issues management and crisis communications
  • Passionate storyteller with in-depth, demonstrated expertise of the media landscape, able to proactively identify and tell unique narratives that support communications objectives
  • Highly collaborative and able to build trust with internal partners across different departments in the company
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines
  • Experience as a trusted partner to senior leaders of a company
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Social media savvy, specifically in corporate channels
  • Experience in the retail or restaurant industry a plus
