Sr Dev Ops Engineer

Responsibilities

Summary:
The primary technical leader for Papa John's Better Experience technology. The Senior Engineer will provide technical direction, thought leadership, and hands-on development and support of innovative pre- and post-sale customer experience. This role is accountable for the domain architecture and technical success of various business-critical applications enabling Papa John's to lead the industry in exploring, creating, and supporting highest-quality, "customer first" experiences from various digital channels and in-restaurant technology. A successful candidate will be able to directly shape the go-forward direction in the Delivery or Payments Tech space; working with and inspiring senior leaders, vendors, and partners in cross functional efforts to influence technology roadmaps and the adoption of new technologies across the enterprise; teaching, mentoring, and growing team members in the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Work hand-in-hand with development teams to ensure that solution design and solution implementation align and evolve together, using an agile mindset
  • Participate in collaborative team planning processes (estimating, prioritizing, etc.), and identify significant project milestones and risks
  • Analyze complex business problems, articulate technical options, and recommend solutions per desired scalability, maintainability, cost-effectiveness, risk-avoidance, etc.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on assistance to various roles on the extended team, driving team toward practices aligned with DevOps principles
  • Prescribe appropriate types and levels of architecture review, code review, testing, documentation, monitoring, and metrics to ensure the ongoing Digital Health and production support of our platforms
  • Provide stewardship for the application life-cycle, e.g. manage technical debt, influence the feature roadmap, highlight innovation opportunities, and ensure solutions are secure, resilient, and supportable
  • Lead team through high-impact operational incidents and ensure root cause-oriented improvements are implemented
  • Lead technology evaluation and adoption efforts (including proof-of-concept and proof-of-technology) in a partnership with Solution and Enterprise Architects.
  • Enable continued improvement in key areas, e.g. Cloud Technologies, Emerging Digital Channels, Industry Partnerships, Quality Automation, Release Automation, Application Performance Management, Reference Architecture, Solution Architecture, Technology Adoption, Service Level Management, Resiliency, and Analytics


Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Significant experience in CI/CD, Continuous Testing, and other DevOps related tools and practices
• Significant experience with modern Cloud Computing technologies (GCP, Azure, and/or AWS)
• Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills, including data visualization and diagramming
• Experience with reactive/resilient design patterns
• An analytical, experiment-based, Systems-Thinking approach to Product Delivery
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology or Information Systems
• 7+ years relevant work experience

• 3+ years of technical leadership experience
• 2+ years of architecture experience in a large-scale, complex IT environment (preferably an Enterprise Agile environment)
