Sr Mgr Corp Communications

THIS IS A CORPORATE POSITION

Responsibilities

Manages day-to-day external corporate communications activity for the company, including executing reputation-building initiatives, managing issues, partnering with key leaders on executive visibility and developing/maintaining media relationships

  • Works across the company to strategically manage and respond to potential corporate and store issues; builds a response process and protocol; works with international markets to assist and share best practices, as needed
  • Leverages agency partners to build strategic plans to further a positive narrative for the company and drive perception change with key stakeholders, directly tied to strategic business objectives
  • Builds a bench of company spokespeople and subject matter experts, including securing speaking and media opportunities, creating an overarching story and supporting messaging, and prepares spokespeople for media and speaking opportunities
  • Leads external communications for corporate announcements
  • Builds close relationships with key media, including beat reporters, business and financial media, and local media; cultivates new relationships with media and influencers
  • Works closely with the consumer communications leader to drive holistic external communications strategy
  • Partners with senior leaders of the company to provide strategic communications counsel and coaching
  • Defines clear, measurable goals and uses to data to drive improvements

Qualifications

DESIRED FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Proven ability to build valuable, trusted relationships with media
  • Highly collaborative and able to build trust with internal partners across different organizations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years corporate communications experience, both in-house and agency preferred
  • Deep experience in issues management and crisis communications
  • Experience as a trusted partner to the most senior leaders of a company
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience in technology communications a plus
  • Experience in the retail or restaurant industry a plus
