This position will support a collaborative equipment innovation process with a cross-functional team providing technical guidance in process design, equipment evaluation and testing, small wares review, and life cycle cost analysis.  We would love to hear from individuals who have participated in cross-functional new equipment roll-out strategies while supporting the operational impact and other key product and/or store design initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop engineering-focused solutions in opportunity areas to improve capacity, improve store level operations, equipment validation, and prototyping.
  • Develop, lead and execute equipment testing processes that cohesively interlink cross-functional work streams from product ideation through system rollouts.
  • Design systems to validate new equipment against specific test criteria and operational KPIs.  Own & support equipment and field level testing through construction mockup reviews, installation plans, food prep requirements, and equipment maintenance criteria evaluations.
  • Participate and provide technical support during operations/market tests, national roll outs, development of installation & maintenance requirements, establishment of operational expectations, and vendor requirements.
  • Work closely with vendor partners from ideation through execution to ensure OEM engagement and equipment expectations are clear.
  • Partner with R&D, Procurement, Development, and Operations teams to ensure standards and new equipment meets expectations from an operational usage standpoint, store install feasibility aspect, and costing/impact perspective.
  • Partner with external resources and/or field labs to conduct in-depth testing for energy consumption, equipment/product speed, emissions, and overall input/output parameters.
  • Administer and maintain equipment documentation, workflow processes, and validation stage gate milestones.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years hands on experience in a food service/design/manufacturing setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, verbal, and written skills
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary trades, technical specialists, field operators, and construction personnel
  • Strong project management skills managing multiple disciplines across the life cycle of the project.  PMP certification would be nice.
  • Stellar communication with a proven history working cross-functionally with various teams from project ideation through field execution.
  • Ability to read construction plans, equipment and shop drawings, P&IDs, etc.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with a solid understanding of CAD programs
  • Understanding of industry and equipment level certification requirements.
