Job Summary

Papa John's is seeking a Procurement professional to lead the development and execution of strategic purchasing strategies across our food and commodity portfolio. The Director, Commodity Risk Management must be able to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to establish and execute sourcing strategies that support Papa Johns business and commodity risk management policy. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct the development and execution of purchasing and supply chain strategies for agricultural and commodity-based items.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder to identify strategic sourcing strategies that deliver supply assurance to operators.
  • Monitor market conditions and oversees the purchase of commodities, update Papa John’s inventory strategy, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the stability of our supply chain.
  • Manage project-approved budgets to effectively navigate market risks to help the business reach its commodity goals.
  • Create program-specific sourcing strategies to optimize supplier base and total cost of ownership.
  • Strong negotiation and financial acumen.
  • Identify potential cost savings, spend reduction, supplier consolidation, and standardization opportunities. Institutes and promotes cost optimization projects.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in supplier review and selection activities to support cost reduction improvement processes; analysis, selection criteria, RFI and RFP development and supplier selection.
  • Evaluate incumbent suppliers, including evaluation and selection criteria and refine current sourcing strategy and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and review performance data with suppliers to implement continuous cost and quality improvements.
  • Identify and solve potential supply chain problems and continually seeks new opportunities for innovation.
  • Prepare and manage contracts.
