Job Details
The Maintenance Shift Supervisor manages and develops all maintenance technicians, custodial operations, and directs productivity, safety, quality workmanship and customer service within the plant. The Maintenance Shift Supervisor is responsible for building and developing teamwork within the department and plant. He or she is required to inspect all completed work and assist in the development of action items to resolve daily issues that arise in all departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage the preventative maintenance program and ensure frequency compliance on all scheduled equipment checks.
Manage the parts inventory and supporting systems.
Oversee all outside contractor work and in-house project development as required.
Participate in the budget process with the Maintenance Manager.
Supervise, develop and train maintenance teams conduct timely and effective performance reviews, hold regularly scheduled shift meetings to identify issues and set up action plans to resolve.
Maintain organization and sanitation of maintenance parts, tools and departmental area.
Ensure all PJFS safety programs and food safety programs are followed in the department and participate in quarterly safety audits. Promote safety awareness through training, communications, and participation in the Plant Safety Committee.
Maintain accurate and complete departmental records for CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System), vendor performance, team member files and P.O.’s.
Replace the Maintenance team leader in his/her absence when required.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate and give direction verbally and in writing in English required.
Must have demonstrated technical skills/certification in general maintenance and troubleshooting of, HVAC/refrigeration, electrical/electronic, plumbing, and electro-mechanical systems.
Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints/electrical schematics.
Ability to demonstrate thorough understanding with PLCs required.
Experience with preventative maintenance programs preferred.
Experience in food manufacturing environments is preferred
Microsoft Office experience preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
PeopleSoft and Kronos application experience preferred.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
College, trade school or business management development is preferred.
Minimum five (5) years progressive supervisory experience required, preferably in industrial maintenance and food industry.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must be able to be on call 24/7.
Must be able to work independently.
Hands-on/mentor skillset
Must have flexibility to work all shifts as necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to use hands repetitively, stand, walk, grasp firmly/strongly and/or simply/lightly with hands, and use fine finger dexterity. The team member is frequently required to bend over, twist, reach above shoulder level, crouch or stoop, kneel, repetitively use feet, and use head and neck in a twisting or static motion and to look up and/or down, and lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Occasionally, the team member is required to sit, climb to approximately 30 feet, balance, push and/or pull, and lift and/or move over 60 pounds.
