Job Summary
The Director of Sales Forecasting is a strategic role responsible for developing accurate sales, order, ticket, and margin forecasts to support the overall earnings forecast. This role is pivotal in providing insights and guidance to the finance and marketing teams as well as other executive members, ensuring effective business performance evaluation, and achieving or outperforming set forecasts.
The primary purpose of the Director of Sales Forecasting is to develop and produce precise and actionable sales forecasts at both system and total levels for corporate and franchise restaurants. This role will identify key business factors, analyze their impacts, and provide accurate forecasts to support strategic decision-making and business performance optimization.
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)
Produce accurate quarterly sales, order, ticket, and margin forecasts to support overall earnings forecast with the finance team.
Generate daily sales, orders, and ticket forecasts at system and total levels for corporate and franchise restaurants.
Identify and attribute key factors influencing business, such as promotional activities, media buys, CRM efforts, 3rd party channels, customer frequency drivers, environmental factors, and competitive environment.
Reporting to the VP of Customer Insights and Business Analytics, the role will also closely collaborate with VP of Revenue Management, Sr. Director of Business Analytics, VP of Financial Planning & Analysis, CMO, and CFO.
Develop forecast models around order source channels (web/app sessions, phone calls, conversion rates by channel), order fulfillment channels (delivery, carryout, 3rd party), and product mix (pizzas by size, sides, beverages, desserts).
Engage deeply in daily business performance evaluations and recommend actions to achieve or outperform set forecasts.
Provide executives with appropriate guidance on the likelihood of over/under performance against set forecasts.
Actively participate in various teams across marketing and finance departments.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Statistics, or Data Science.
8+ years of experience in business analytics and forecasting, including designing forecast models and executive-level summarization of findings.
Restaurant or retail experience is desired
Functional Skills
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
