Job Summary


The Director of Digital Engineering & Ecommerce Architecture is responsible to drive the digital transformation at PJI. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and a passion for innovation. The role partners with industry experts and internal technology leaders to lead the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge solutions that enhance PJI’s customer engagement, drive brand loyalty, and streamline operations.      
     
     
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)
 

  • Architect and Design Solutions: Develop and implement scalable cloud architectures that support PJI’s ecommerce platforms and enhance integrations with in-store technologies.

  • Generative AI Integration: Lead the integration of generative AI technologies to optimize customer personalization, engagement, and operational efficiency.

  • Innovation in PJI’s Ecommerce and Integrations with Store Technologies: Drive innovation within our sector by identifying and implementing technology solutions that streamline ecommerce processes and improve in-store experiences for our customers.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices in architecture and design.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, developers, and quality and operational engineers, to align technical solutions with business goals.

  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of cloud-based solutions.

  • Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation and provide training to ensure seamless adoption of new technologies.

Education, Experience & Certifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Principal Engineer, or similar role in a large-scale ecommerce environment with a minimum of 5 years in architecture leadership, with a focus on cloud computing, generative AI, and QSR ecommerce and store technology innovation. 

Technical Skills: 

  •  Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), generative AI frameworks (e.g., GPT, DALL-E), and QSR ecommerce and store technology solutions.

  •   Strong expertise in microservices architecture, and API development.

  •  Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.

  •  Experience with database management systems, both SQL and NoSQL.

  • Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills, experience in leading technical teams and projects. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
