Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Logistics & Inventory Planning oversees the end-to-end management of inventory and logistics operations, ensuring continuous product availability for restaurant distribution. This role is responsible for analyzing and forecasting operational needs, partnering with cross-functional teams to support new product and promotional launches, and minimizing obsolete or surplus inventory. The role partners closely with Procurement, Warehouse Operations, IT, suppliers, and organizational leaders to resolve challenges and drive process improvements. By managing inbound transportation, monitoring freight movement, and utilizing system data, the Senior Manager enhances profitability through cost reductions and efficiency gains, while supporting warehouse operations and responding to shipment inquiries as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)

  • ·        Manage Inventory Planning Team to forecast, order, analyze and track all inventory products distributed by assigned distribution centers. 

    ·        Monitor inventory levels to ensure continuous availability for distribution to the end user - restaurants. 

    ·        Analyze and forecast operating needs. 

    ·        Support new product/monthly promotional offer roll-outs working with cross-functional internal and external teams made up of Procurement, Program Management, Marketing, Corporate Operations, Ops Training, Support Services, R&D/QA, Vendors and Distribution Centers. 

    ·        Identify and manage to minimize obsolete/surplus inventories. 

    ·        Work closely in partnership with Procurement, Warehouse Operations, IT, Suppliers, Organizational Leaders and more to resolve obstacles as they arise and develop process improvement plans 

    ·        Improve PJFS' profitability through inventory management, logistics cost reductions, cost avoidances, and process improvements on a cross-functional basis.    

    ·        Support QCC warehouse operations through various process improvement and other projects as they arise 

    ·        Oversee inbound transportation team managing freight movement generated by Transportation Management Software (TMS) and troubleshoot/resolve issues with overdue pickups and/or deliveries. 

    ·        Monitor freight movement generated by Transportation Management Software (TMS), scrutinize system planned freight movement carefully to ensure the most cost-effective and timely pickup and delivery of loads. 

    ·        Use track and trace analysis results on overdue pickups and/or deliveries to respond to questions or requests from managers, buyers, and facilities regarding collect shipments. 

    ·        Ensure expedited loads are set up and tracked. 

    ·        Ensure loads are tracked over the weekend in accordance to the on-call schedule. 

    ·        Negotiates carrier rates for optimal savings for the inbound network. 

    ·        Manages and participates in accessorial, budget, and carrier performance reviews. 

    ·        Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
